Facilitating Sino-American Rail Collaboration — Our Company Successfully Completes Maritime Transport for Chicago’s 7000-Series Railcars
Between 2020 and 2024, our company was honored to participate in CRRC’s export project for Chicago’s 7000-series subway vehicles. We undertook all 16 batches of maritime transport, successfully and efficiently delivering a total of 48 railcars from China to the United States, ensuring their smooth handover to the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA).

Project Background
The Chicago 7000-series subway project marks a significant milestone as China’s rail transit equipment enters the U.S. market on a large scale. In 2016, CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd. won the bid for this project, with a total contract value of $1.3 billion, planning to deliver 846 subway vehicles to replace Chicago’s aging trains and enhance the city’s rail transit services.
